Flying The Fish - 05 September 2005 at 17:09

Flying the fish is an adventure documentary about flying from Cape Town to the Fish River Canyon in Namibia. Africa's Grand Canyon and the second largest canyon system in the world.

It was an adventure of a life time exploring the vast open spaces of Southern Africa in open cockpit aircraft. The team flew just under 2000 kilometers in ten days, and used microlights for air transport and portable off road scooters called Gopeds to explore while on the ground.

The website tells the whole story and also includes a fabulous photo gallery and a movie clip. The DVD will be realeased soon - a must have for every microlight pilot. I look forward to viewing the finisihed product.

The Team conists of:

- Mark Becker. Mark is the aerial cameraman and trike pilot for "Flying the fish". He has been a flying and filming enthusiast for as long as he can remember.

- Tjeerd Beens. Tjeerd is trike pilot # 2 on "Flying the fish" and chief eagle eyes always spotting somewhere to land from miles away. He has over ten years flying experience and flown many microlight adventures around Southern Africa.

- Mark Wegener. Mark, aka "Maximus", doubles as the second camera unit and ground support. He is rated to fly both trikes and fixed wing aircraft.
